Our Mission

At the Evelyn Stokes Foundation, Inc., we are committed to nurturing the potential of young people, ages 13 to 23, to become impactful adults who dedicate themselves to enhancing the lives of marginalized and underserved communities. Who We Are

Based in Metro Atlanta, the Evelyn Stokes Foundation strategically trains a select group of ten highly gifted and motivated youths from zip codes 30034, 30038, and 30058. Our mission is realized through the development and implementation of policies, procedures, and programs designed specifically to support and uplift underserved areas. Our efforts are powered by the generosity of our donors and the strength of our work relationships.

Our Approach

We achieve our objectives by engaging closely with a variety of influential local, state, federal, and international organizations. These partnerships involve members of Congressional staffs, governmental agencies, the Peace Corps, the U.S. State Department, the United Nations, the African Union, and other similar entities. Our collaborative efforts are focused on creating and administering effective initiatives that bring about real change.

Looking ahead, we aim to expand our network and form partnerships with comparable organizations worldwide, increasing our impact and fostering global change.

Better Together

Our participants are at the heart of our foundation. They engage monthly with leaders and representatives from organizations that have successfully addressed the needs of marginalized and underserved communities. This exposure is crucial in developing their understanding and capabilities in real-world settings.

In addition to these interactions, our participants are actively involved in regular local community service efforts, further grounding their learning in practical experience. A key component of their educational journey includes planned trips to Washington, D.C., and the United Nations, where they will meet with policymakers and observe the intricacies of policy implementation firsthand.
